One Week Trip to Paradise Island: Top 5 Attractions to Explore

Welcome to the paradise! The Bahamas’ own Paradise Island is full of activities to do all year round, and it’s not only beaches…

paradise island

Who doesn’t think about the Bahamas when they hear the word Carribean? The Bahamas is essentially a staple of our imagination when we think of a beach or tropical vacation.

Out of the hundreds of islands belonging to the Bahamas, Paradise Island is one of the more touristy locations all year round. As the name would imply, a trip there can feel like paradise. Aside from the beaches, there is nightlife to explore and even a massive resort!

There are plenty of activities to try on Paradise Island. Without further a due, here are five activities worth exploring:

#1: Atlantis Paradise Island

Atlantis is a massive resort that can be seen from Nassau, the Bahamas’ capital. People can still enter the resort without booking a stay, but they do need a day pass.

The day pass allows visitors to experience Aquaventure, the resort’s own massive waterpark. There are dozens of rides at the 141-acre waterpark and wonderful views that go with them as well.

In addition, the day pass allows people to experience the Dolphin Cay and Marine Program. Both options offer access to the aquarium and the Dolphin Cay allows people to interact with dolphins. Swimming with the dolphins is also an option and is sure to bring lasting memories.

Visitors with the day pass can also enjoy the casino and bar.

Check in for the day pass is from 8:30am-4:30pm.

#2: Parasailing

Paradise Island offers parasailing to their visitors. Essentially, parasailing is when people are hooked to a parachute that lifts them in the air while the boat is moving.

The experience can be done individually or with up to three people at once. There are options as to how long the parasailing experience can last, usually from 30 minutes to an hour.

Best of all, the boat drives around the island and drops people off at the beach in front of Atlantis. Furthermore, the tour guides offer to take pictures and videos of the experience.

#3: Pirate Jeep Sightseeing Adventure

One of the best things about Paradise Island is that it is conveniently located across Nassau. That being said, it is easy to explore both islands whenever people want.

The Pirate Jeep tour is a great option for tourists to learn about the history and culture of Nassau. Also, it is a great way to hit all the popular landmarks on the island.

There are six stops in the tour, including the Queen’s Staircase and the Jon Watling’s Distillery. Some of the stops included are for pictures to admire to landscape, but there is general admission included to most places.

The best thing about the tour is the tour guide, who keeps the day highly interactive and cool. They offer to stop at local restaurants or shops so people can get a unique experience of the island’s food and culture.

To be honest, this tour alone is the only tour someone would need to see Nassau’s best and experience it. The tour is three hours, but more than likely it will last a bit longer. Pickup and drop off is offered directly to someone’s place of stay.

#4: Paradise Island: Rose Island Tour w/ Swimming Pigs

Pigs and beaches are what people might think of when they hear Bahamas. Indeed, there are pigs… in beaches.

There is one tour that departs from Paradise Island towards an island called Rose Island. Rose Island is a private island that is used to conserve pigs and for tourist attractions.

Aside from swimming with pigs, people can also snorkel on the opposite side of the island. There are plenty of fishes to see, and even turtles!

The tour includes a buffet style lunch, and the food is delicious. There is also room to just walk around the island and explore.

The tour is six hours long and includes transportation to the island and back.

#5: SLS Baha Mar

If you’re looking for safe nightlife, the SLS Baha Mar might be the place to go.

Going based on what some tour guides mentioned, there is plenty of nightlife in Nassau, but some places can be a little sketchy. Not everyone will mind that, but it is worth mentioning.

The SLS Baha Mar is one of Nassau’s biggest resorts. It has a casino, a couple of bars, and of course a private beach. There are also night clubs located in the main floor.

Visitors have access to the bars, the clubs, and the casino. It is very lively and there is definitely signs for a fun time at the resort.

The nightclubs and bar are open until 1am on weekends and might be closed earlier on other days.

All in all, there is plenty to do in Paradise Island. There are more beach activities to try like jet skiing and even walking around is fun enough. If visiting the island, be sure to also check out the capital, and have fun!
