Curacao’s Secret Gem: The Perfect Day for Everybody

Aside from the beaches and city life, Curacao has one attraction that will suit into anybody’s vacation plans perfectly.

Curacao Sea Aquarium

Curacao is an island that not many people have heard of. It is located really close to South America, making it one of the hotter islands in the Carribean.

Sure, Curacao has their nice beaches and caves and what not, but there’s one thing many people will skip by (especially if they have no kids).

That being said, Curacao has a pretty neat aquarium, called Curacao Sea Aquarium. There’s much more to do than visit exhibits in this aquarium, and it’s much more than just for kids.

Dolphin Academy

Perhaps the best experience Curacao’s aquarium has to offer, swimming with dolphins is a great experience.

The Dolphin Academy offers many ways to interact with the aquarium’s dolphins. In addition to swimming, people have the opportunity to play with the dolphins. Dolphin instructors give people the choice of game they want to play, and just like that, they will find themselves playing with dolphins.

Above all, the instructors have taught the dolphins many poses for taking pictures. All that is left to do is to choose a pose. There is guarantee of having some great photos available for your memories.

All interactions with the dolphins are done in groups of six people and two dolphins, giving everyone plenty of fin time!

Shark Encounters

For those who feel brave and strong, Curacao’s aquarium allows people to snorkel with sharks. Of course, there is a protection barrier, given that the sharks are lemon sharks.

Nevertheless, the experience is one of a kind and allows people to feed the sharks as well. On the side of the glass where people get to snorkel, there are many fishes waiting to greet them.

The snorkeling itself lasts 30 minutes, but the experience is for a total of one hour (and a lifetime).

Dolphin Shows

Curacao’s Dolphin Academy is also responsible for putting on some amazing dolphin shows.

There are three shows a day involving up to six dolphins at the same time. As with any other show, the best tricks are saved for last and are sure to impress anyone. The venue where the shows occur highlight the aquarium’s one-of-a-kind architecture, as the ocean flows right into the outdoor exhibits.

Performances last about half an hour and offer the public some knowledge on the dolphins that perform. Most importantly, the animals seem very happy and have fun doing the show!

Feeding Animals

Flamingos are no strangers to Curacao, so it makes sense to have the opportunity to feed them at the aquarium. These creatures are able to roam around freely in their pen, without any cages or fencing to prevent them from interacting with people.

In addition, people can feed the stingrays their lunch with the supervision of a staff member. The rays are harmless and trained to eat their food from anyone, making it an enjoyable moment to get on tape.

Curacao’s aquarium is full of events the whole day, making it easy to get the chance to feed different animals.

Truthfully, a day at the Curacao Sea Aquarium will last the whole day, if people try out all the things. As mentioned at the beginning, anyone can have fun at this aquarium, not only kids.

There are some pretty neat views at the aquarium too, giving off nice vibes for a photo. The dolphin experiences are lifelong memories that people will have, so it is encouraged to try that out.

Curacao has a lot to offer, and its aquarium is proof of that.
